For the course’s second oral presentation, you will select and present an article on robot ethics.
Details
Refer to the article list and presentation schedule for the article and day you will be responsible for presenting. The presentation should be a short formal presentation with visual aids. Unlike the first presentation, it should not simply be a summary of the article, but rather the main focus is in making connections between the article and some of the readings we have done in “The Fundamentals of Ethics”. The presentation should also:
- be between 5 and 10 minutes
- have presentation slides
- include citations
- not use notes
- not be memorized verbatim
Class Discussion
After delivering your oral presentation you will be the class’s foremost expert on the topic of your selected article. As such, I would like your assistance in leading the class discussion after your presentation. To that end, I would like you to prepare a list of at least 4 questions related to your selected article.
Evaluation
Your oral presentation will be evaluated according to the the Roanoke College Oral Communications Rubric. Your presentation grade will be calcualted using the following point distributions:
- Presentation quality: 28 pts. (4 pts. per criterion)
- Submitted thoughful discussion questions: 4 pts. (1 pt. per question)
