The Android SDK is available for Windows, Mac, and Linux. it is available at http://developer.android.com/sdk/index.html. It is available for 32- and 64-bit machines, although there are some pieces of software included with the sdk that is only compiled in 32-bit. If you get the bundle from the above website, you get a copy of eclipse that is setup with the android plugins. This is already setup on the CS lab computers under the command android-eclipse.
Installing the Android plugin manually: http://developer.android.com/sdk/installing/installing-adt.html
* If you come across a platform specific issue that might be of note for the entire class, email Scotty to have it added.
We will be starting by using Android SDK 2.3.3. You can download this using the SDK manager included with the api bundle download above. If there is demand, we can move to another SDK version.
