Welcome to CPSC 120! Over the course of this semester, we are going to go on a journey exploring how to speak the language of computers. While programming is the main focus of this semester, that is not the only thing that Computer Science is about. We will explore some of the more nuanced things that CS lets us do today.
Try to complete the hand out cryptogram today. While you try to solve the puzzle, also try to figure out how you are solving this puzzle.
If anyone ever tells you there's no such thing as fun and games in CS, feel free to point them to this activity. There is a wonderful game called LightBot, which introduces a lot of programming topics. For today, we are going to play several levels from this game, and attempt to connect it back to our main subject matter.
